17th annual  C. F. “Chuck” Burns Graduate Student Poster Contest

Congratulations to Asia and Tyler on their poster awards at the 17th annual  C. F. “Chuck” Burns Graduate Student Poster Contest of the Liberty Bell Chapter of ASM International last Thursday night.
Tyler’s poster title is “Thickness independent capacitance in vertically aligned transition metal carbides” (3rd place). Co-authors: Yu Xia, Mengqiang Zhao, Babak Anasori, Alei Dang, Zehang Zhou, Hyesung Cho, Randall Kamien, and Shu Yang.

Asia’s poster title is “2D titanium carbide (MXene) dipole antennas and RFID tag” (1st place). Co-authors: Alessia Polemi, Mohamed Alhabeb, L. (Joe) Yuqiao, Kapil Dandekar, and Babak Anasori.
Congratulations to all co-authors who helped in this award-winning research!

Simge and Asia Win Prizes at the DEGS Conference

Congratulations to Ph.D. students, Simge and Asia, for taking home prizes at the DEGS conference today! Simge won best oral presentation and Asia won the people’s choice award for the Three Minute Thesis Competition!

Congratulations to Dr. Meikang Han

Congratulations to visiting researcher, Meikang Han, who has successfully defended his PhD thesis in at Northwestern Polytechnic University in Xi’an, China. We expect him to come back in a few weeks as a post-doctoral researcher.

Nicholas Trainor Receives Honorable Mention from Goldwater Scholarship

BS/MS student, Nicholas Trainor, received the honor of Honorable Mention for his application to the prestigious 2018 Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program.  Congratulations to Nick for this great honor!

MXenes Antennas Win at DIG IEEE Conference at Drexel

PhD Student, Asya Sarycheva, won the 1st place at poster competition at DIG IEEE conference for our work on MXene Antennas together with Mohamed, Babak, Alessia Polemi (she is a research assistant professor in MSE) and people from ECE department (Joe and Dr. Dandekar).

The DIG conference is a great opportunity to get feedback on your work from people from different backgrounds. I encourage you guys to participate next year!
