MXenes Antennas Win at DIG IEEE Conference at Drexel

MXenes Antennas Win at DIG IEEE Conference at Drexel

PhD Student, Asya Sarycheva, won the 1st place at poster competition at DIG IEEE conference for our work on MXene Antennas together with Mohamed, Babak, Alessia Polemi (she is a research assistant professor in MSE) and people from ECE department (Joe and Dr. Dandekar).

The DIG conference is a great opportunity to get feedback on your work from people from different backgrounds. I encourage you guys to participate next year!

Congratulations to all!

Tis Lahiri Seminar and Visit to Vanderbilt

Tis Lahiri Seminar and Visit to Vanderbilt

Prof. Yury Gogotsi presented the Tis Lahiri Memorial seminar at Vanderbilt University on April 9, 2018. Past lectures have been given by members of national academies and top researchers in ChemE and MSE fields, such as Nicholas Peppas, Karen Gleason, and Kristi Anseth among others.  This lecture attracts broadly from a number of departments at Vanderbilt.

Prof. Gogotsi also had the opportunity to see DNI alumna, Dr. Kelsey Hazell and her team of PhD students!  Her group produced 3 papers in her first year at Vanderbilt.  Just yesterday, Kelsey won another NSF grant, so her group will keep growing.

Kathleen Wins a Koerner Family Fellowship

Congratulations to Ph.D. Candidate, Kathleen Maleski, who has been awarded a prestigious Koerner Family Fellowship.  Sponsored by Robert M. and Paula W. Koerner (along with their children), the Koerner Family Fellowships are awarded to one graduate student per year in each department of the College of Engineering. Students that receive this award are recognized for their dedication to their doctoral studies and meet with their peers and donor during the academic year.  This is a great recognition of Kathleen’s outstanding work!

Drexel Magazine 2018

Congratulations to DNI alumna, Dr. Kristy Jost, who has been selected as one of the brightest rising stars among Drexel alumni (Drexel 40 under 40). At 29, she is also one of the youngest! https://drexelmagazine.org/2018/40-under-40-winter-spring-18/
This issue of Drexel Magazine also features the NanoArtography competition launched by Babak Anasori: https://drexelmagazine.org/2018/nano-art/
Congratulations to our current and former team members on these great achievements!!!
