Congratulations to PhD Student Katie Van Aken for winning second place in the ASM poster contest and undergraduate researcher Alexander McBride for being awarded an ASM scholarship at the Liberty Bell Chapter meeting this week!
NMG group member, Amanda Pentecost, and fellow MSE students traveled to the Material Advantage’s Congressional Visits Day on April 15, 2015 in Washington, D.C. The students met with local congressional staffers and discuss how federal STEM funding has positively affected them allowed the students to perform incredible, groundbreaking research at Drexel.
Congratulations to PhD Candidate Maria Lukatskaya who won the MRS Graduate Students Gold Award. This is the highest recognition for graduate students working in the materials field. Maria was competing against the preselected best PhD students from the very best universities in the world and she won. This is a great achievement!
Maria was also awarded the prestigious and very competitive Hill Fellowship from the College of Engineering. This is a recognition of excellent research that she has been doing over the past 3 years.
Congratulations to Katie on being selected as a Fellow in the GAANN Grand Challenges program!

Congratulations to Maria Lukatskaya, who has been selected as one of MRS Graduate Student Award finalists. Maria will be competing with students from the best universities in the world for a Gold Award at the Spring 2015 MRS meeting in San Francisco.
