For those interested in applying to the Drexel-Penn IGERT, the following guidelines should help you through the process.  We recommend that you contact a potential advisor (or advisors) before applying--please visit our Faculty page for ideas.  If you have any questions or would like to be in touch with a current IGERT student, please contact IGERT program coordinator Holly Burnside.

TO APPLY:   Applicants should submit a standard graduate application to a participating department at either Drexel University Graduate Admissions  or University of Pennsylvania Graduate  Admissions.  In addition, applicants must complete an IGERT Application Form and send their application materials to Holly Burnside.

DEADLINES:    Applications for Fall 2008 are due February 20 , 2008.  

ELIGIBILITY: IGERT Fellows must be accepted into a participating Ph.D. program at either Drexel University or the University of Pennsylvania. Please note: stipend support from the IGERT funded program is available only to U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents, although the universities  may offer  non-U.S. citizens other means of support to participate.

LEVELS OF SUPPORT:

IGERT fellows receive tuition remission plus a stipend of $30,000 for the first year. Felllows are eligible to apply for a second year of support. In addition, fellows may apply for travel funding for research collaboration. (Certain restrictions may apply.
